Your voice of truth – 3 tips to enhance it

What is your Voice of Truth?

I was driving and listening to the radio and on comes the song “Voice of Truth” by Casting Crowns and I just truly listened to the words in this song, and it prompted me to write about your voice of truth, our voice of truth what is it? What’s being said unconsciously in your mind?

The first story they speak about in the song is only if you/me have enough courage to step out of the “Boat” you’re in, meaning your comfort zone, how blessed you will be. This got me to thinking how many of us are in a Boat that we just can’t get out of, but you see your true destiny, your goal, Jesus standing there just holding out his hand to you saying come on you can take this step.

Just then, the waves come crashing out and they start to Laugh at you, (Your enemies) just reminding you of how many times you have tried to get out or do something, trust in God, but you failed. Those waves are going to continue to crash on you until you have the courage to fail forward. All you can hear in your head is that you Never Will succeed! However, there is a voice of truth that is telling you a different story, it’s telling you not to be afraid of the hurdle or obstacle that’s holding you back its Your voice of truth.

What exactly is that “Giant” that has you so afraid to step forward and Do it? There is something that is holding you back from your most potential and its that Giant that you do not want to face. Imagine how David felt going up against Goliath the giant and the scrutiny he must have felt and heard from other soldiers that were Afraid to face the giant so instead they tried to make themselves feel good-by ridiculing You and making you doubt yourself and God. How would you handle that situation? Unfortunately most people cave into the pressure and don’t follow through to slaying the Giant.

This is when you need your voice of Truth to kick in. It’s where you now need the Courage to step forward and get out of the boat and slay the Giant.

So how exactly do I enhance this Voice of Truth?

  1. Listen to music – Many people don’t know how simple this is, but if you listen to inspirational music (I love Christian music), it sends positive triggers to your brain that puts you in the right frame of mind to take on any challenge. This is what it does for me. Do you listen to music?
  2. Read/ Listen More – Reading more positive resources and tools like (The bible, Success magazine, Other inspiring bloggers websites, Audio CD’s and DVD) these tools will always get you off to a great start for the day. It’s a must for me and it inspires me to do things that I would not normally do.
  3. Stay Plugged in – Jesus said that you should stay plugged into the source, because when you are not plugged in you will wither up and die. This goes for every aspect of your life, (Spiritual, Family, Business or your Job) you must stay plugged into the resources so that you can continue to always improve on your skills. Imagine if you never improved and you stayed the same, doing the same thing and not acquiring any new skills? You would eventually become irrelevant.

Question: What are you doing to enhance your Voice of Truth? How do you get out of your comfort zone?

Great message! Staying plugged into our life source is how we can get through each day. I too listen to inspiring music and read good books. I also try and limit my time around negative things. As a Christian I must live in this world, but I must not conform to it. Staying in tune with Christ is the only thing that keeps me from falling into the dark.

How do I push out of my comfort zone- by listening to God and doing all the talking. I try to listen and to follow…though I’m not always successful.

TC staying away from all things negative is very important for me also. I don’t watch much local television news because of it. And listening to GOD is a cant miss. We are humans and as you know we are not perfect. I love your examples.

I’m going to do a post soon about news sources I listen to and respect. It’s tough staying away from negative stuff, yet staying informed about our world.

I agree TC. Darren Hardy which is a mentor of mine uses RSS Feeds to have whatever news he wants delivered to him via email and filter out the rest. Its sort of a shield against what you don’t want to hear while you are watching what you want to hear or see. I am interested to read your post on the news sources that you respect. Can’t wait, I love your posts.

Can’t wait to see that post TC, I respect your opinions and it helps to educate others on Political Christian views. Can’t wait.

I do all of these three Lincoln and I would add listening to amazing podcasts and audio books, that’s how I start every morning. Great reminder Lincoln.

kimanzi, definitely can’t forget the podcasts and audio those are crucial to success. Who do you subscribe to?

Music is most certainly my best respite. Reading and learning means I grow and flourish. Prayer and listening to God’s Voice through Scripture keeps me sane (if there is such a thing). I also like to cook – for me a day spent in the kitchen is a day well spent. As for my ‘comfort zone’, I rarely step out of it. I am working on this. God draws me out, sometimes kicking and screaming, and puts me in a better place every time. It is just a matter being able to embrace God’s possibilities for me.

    • http://www.lincolnparks.com Lincoln Parks

Susan, you sound like me. I usually fight so hard to stay comfortable, but I constantly have to ask GOD to continue to strengthen me and push me out. Wow, never thought of the kitchen. I like it, so what are you cooking? What’s your favorite dish?

      • http://voiceofapatriot.com/ Susan

You name it! Lately I have been on an Italian food kick (listening to Dean Martin makes the food taste even better :) With warmer weather, I tend to spend less time in a hot kitchen, but there are plenty of cool foods – salads, sandwiches, etc. Breaking bread with family in the presence of Jesus Christ is always a wonderful thing. By the way, my absolute favorite food has to be Mexican food – a little zip is a good thing.

Looks like you have more than one God given talent. I am planning something in the next year that will hopefully get Christian blogging Leaders together. If you are open and can make it once its formally announced, we will have to sample your Mexican dishes. :-)

Looks like you have so many talents that GOD has blessed you with. I like the sound of the Mexican. I am planning something huge for Christian Bloggers and Leaders next year. Hopefully we can get a sampling of the Mexican.

The song spoke so much to me Dan that I wrote this post a d wanted to keep going. When you are filled with passion like we are and want to get better everyday it just leaves you in awe of what you can accomplish. Thanks for stopping by.

I stay plugged into my Source and His viewpoint on life – through reading and meditating on the Bible, reading widely, listening to music.

My driest, discouraging days are the ones when I drift away from His thoughts & promises.

    Great thought in this post.

    • http://www.lincolnparks.com Lincoln Parks

You are not alone Ngina, Its so easy for me also to find myself drifting away when I don’t read my bible or listen to inspirational music. We must stay in the word. Thank you so much for contributing to the discussion.
