You are a Leader when..6 Lessons

Over the past week, I have truly been studying all great leaders and I have so much good content to share with you in today’s segment. In this segment I touch on 6 Leadership principles that when you are performing these you know you are on the Leadership path. If you are like me and you know that you are constantly learning and reading, studying and preparing its crucial to remain humble.

You know you are a Leader when you are doing the following things;

  1. When your willing to put it ALL on the line with passion, then you will Lead – This means burning the bridge on the other side and Leading with everything inside of you.
  2. When preparing to be a leader you have to work hard until your number is called – If your feeling like your number is not being called don’t get discouraged, just make sure you are prepared to go in when it is called.
  3. When you wake up thinking, I can’t wait to make a difference in some else’s life – You know you have the keys to success when you only want to sew into someone else.
  4. Effective Leaders see the choices through others eyes – As Leaders we see things that others are seeing and need to see.
  5. As a Leader Authenticity matters – An authentic leader will set realistic goals and do realistic things.
  6. You serve others / Make them better – As a Leader you should be making people consistently better when they are around you.

About Lincoln R Parks

I am a Traditional and Non-Traditional Business owner. I made the transition from Corporate cubicle to Home office. I went to work harder on myself than I did on my Job, and went from Darkness to light. I spend my days Consulting, Teaching, informing, & Learning. God has given me a spirit of Humility and a mind for Business, so I use that ability to reach others.

    Great video- not too long!

Leaders must give all- giving all inspires others to follow. I know I don’t want to follow someone who is holding back, it makes me think they don’t believe in their cause.
Love #4, I think that is key to being an effective leader.

Love the fact that you believe in giving all TC and it’s apparent from your blog that you do. You are right if you are not sold out to what you are doing everyone will notice and as far as following is concerned it may not happen.

Seeing the choices through the eyes of others really helps you identify with that person and helps to grow You and the other person as Leaders.

        Thanks!

Yes, going that extra step to try and see the world through another’s eyes makes a huge difference!

Who are you telling TC. This is how Jesus lived putting others first and seeing it through their eyes.

          • http://tcavey.blogspot.com/ TCAvey

Yes He did, such a great example for us to look to!

I really saw number 1 come to life at an event I spoke at. I was passionate about my topic and people responded and have been emailing about implementing what I talked about. These are excellent points.

Hey Kimanzi, can you share what you spoke about. I know what your passion is but I want to know how you did it and how the audience was captivated by your talk. I know it was amazing to see so many other passionate people.

I spoke about the power of your story to truly connect with your audience :)

The power of your story is absolutely awesome..If you have a powerful story, so many people will connect with that.

I just compared your check list to the ultimate leader and I’m pretty confident Jesus did those things!

Today in the morning, God reminded me that its He who lifts up, who connects, who enlarges my territories. He has not called me to try and do His job. Mine is to believe, have faith and obey.

It ties in to #2, just keep in doing and when my number is called, I’ll be ready.

    • http://www.lincolnparks.com Lincoln Parks

That reminder Ngina from God that enlarges your territory is so awesome. Yes, all we have to do is stay in the background ready for when God tells us its our turn to go up to bat. Thank you for sharing such a powerful message.

Lincoln, this is just a great, great post. I’ll add one more – you are a leader when you are willing to pay a higher price than anyone else is willing to pay.

    • http://www.lincolnparks.com Lincoln Parks

Brian, thank you! I agree that when you are willing to pay a higher price to get things done you rise above mediocrity. Awesome addition.
