What’s your journey?

I was watching the Olympics and saw the story of Oscar Pistorius and I was totally blow away by the opposition that he faced during his ascent to the Olympic games. Since Oscar is a double amputee you know he faced obstacles that told him he would never compete on that level. I wonder what his journey was like? Do you think it was easy? Or what about Gabby Douglas, the American Gymnast that appeared to come out of know where?

These individuals did not just come out of know where, they put in years and years of sacrifice, sweat and absolutely tears. They fought for every ounce of sweat that dropped and they deserved every single bit of that. During my journey I have four points that have helped me throughout to stay sane and focused.

  1. Live a God centered life
  2. Don’t be pushed by problems, instead be led by dreams.
  3. Know its easy to make a dollar, but better to make a difference
  4. Hold fast to dreams and don’t let them die.

Imagine if anyone of those athletes competing in the Olympics would have let their dream die? What would have happened?

Here is a video on Oscar Pistorius

Question: What is your journey looking like? How are you growing it, or fixing it?

Great post and great list. I agree 100%.

My journey has been a series of detours that keep leading me back to His truth. Your right, filling out pockets with the wrong perspective can often empty out our soul. Living with others in mind and in action is one of the greatest gifts of wisdom from God.

That is so wonderful how all of our Journeys can be so different yet we end up serving the same God. We end up forming relationships along this journey and sharing this great gift we have. I can’t tell you how great it makes me feel to share the word. Thanks for sharing that insight.

Putting God in the center is so important. When we do this everything seems to work out, even working through problems or hard times. Great points Lincoln.

Thanks Dan, In everything that I do i make sure to put God first. You are absolutely so right Dan because everything does work out when you put him first.

Love your points Lincoln. I mean if we live by them consistently, we will definitely go far!

I have changed my lenses, the way i look at life and so while someone else maybe wondering what in the world am doing, i am happy and seeing progress – because am keeping God-perspective.

God bless you for these insights! Love the tagline, as always :)

Thanks Ngina for the recommendation to add that into the tag line, now I will be adding and outro video as well because of your suggestions. Thank you. If you don’t mind me asking what changes have you made that are keeping you seeing progress? I always like to learn from others.

The core changes are not different from what you’ve mentioned. In practice, aligning myself to God’s word and refusing to be moved by discouraging circumstances, staying disciplined. The progress is not ‘giant-sized’ by man’s standard. But for me it speaks ‘am in the right direction’

I’m just sitting back and admiring all the great things going on from everyone around us. This is truly and inspiration to see that everyone is making and striving for their dreams. Before long, we will have new Leaders sprout from what has been birthed here. Thank you for sharing that Ngina.

Absolutely Kimanzi. Its sort of like the journey you mention from your bread business to now speaking all over the world. That is totally amazing. Has it sunk in yet?
