Have you ever heard this saying before? In Network Marketing circles it’s used all the time, but 95% of the people don’t pay attention to what’s being said or don’t understand. Many marketers are spilling their business all over a prospect and not even listening to what the prospect has to say. After most people have prospected the wrong people for their business, those people will often avoid their calls and turn the other way when they see you coming, and they you get into desperation mode.
Believe it or not, most people who start businesses in this arena are not equipped to do business in this arena (AT FIRST), but the skills can be acquired. Its fun when you know your Batting Average so you know the exact ratio that are going to partner with you in business. However, when you don’t know what you’re doing and how or where your next prospect is going to come from, it’s the most frightening feeling in the world. You must always remember that, “Amateurs Convince and Professionals sort”. When you first begin in your Network Marketing business you make up in Numbers what you lack in Skill, until you can gain the necessary skills.
So why do we and how do we get in desperation mode? It happens after you have totally exhausted all of your resources and there is nobody else in your pipeline (Or so you say) and you claim to have run out of prospects for your business.
Do you know how to professionally sort for your business? Here are a few examples of things you can do to sort;
In conversation use FORM – This stands for Family, Occupation, Recreation, and Money.. If you are in General conversation with someone you can ask them how their family is doing to see if it reveals an opening for you, if everything is good there, you go to the Occupation, then Recreation and then Money. If the person you are speaking with does not reveal a reason WHY to you to do this business, they may not be the right person for your business you can SORT.
Ok, so just how do you get an abundance of prospects? Well its simple, you need to change your Mindset. Remember, you are in charge and that person that is just looking for a “GRQ” Get Rich Quick opportunity; you need to TRASH them immediately. It may seem harsh, and that person may be really nice but if you want to succeed in network marketing, you need to run away from that type of person. First you need to Interview your prospects for your business. Don’t let them ask you the questions, you ask them the questions to see if they qualify for your business. Then you need to create a Funnel system that brings the right prospects to you. You need to take advantage of the online Internet marketing, Social Media, and personal branding, to create this system. What do I do for all our new business partners on our team that don’t have speaking skills or sorting skills just yet, We give them our funnel system for duplication. Now are you sorting for Leaders like this by asking the questions and people chasing you down(Attraction Marketing), or are you trying to convince them to join your business? If you continue building as an Amateur, you’re building your business like the nursery rhyme “London Bridges” They all fall down!
